00:51 Harvey George was born, in that minute my whole world had changed. I had reason, I had purpose, I had a son. I was just 21, in a horrendous relationship and was well aware that motherhood was going to be tough but I could never have imagined how tough the next few months were going to be.

So, this tiny little bundle is placed onto my chest, we are always taught that “breast is best” and I did like the idea of having that one thing my boy needed that no one else could give him so that’s where we began but, little did I know, the gorgeous image you have in your head of a Mummy feeding their baby was never how things were going to be.
There’s so much I can say about our time in hospital, the first 2 weeks after we got home and the 6 horrendous weeks that followed – 24 hours a day Harvey would scream, curl into a ball, was sick all the time, had horrendous nappies and was head to toe in red raw itchy rashes, we never slept and bearly left the house.

The turning point was week 8, I found out about Cows Milk Protein Allergy (CMPA) and that’s where our allergy journey began.
Fast forward to today, 2.5 years later, Harvey has had 6 sets skin prick tests, multiple confirmed allergies, hundreds of medical appointments, blood tests, food challenges, we’ve gone through multiple bottles of antihistamine and one terrifying visit to A&E. Now, we are finally at a point where Harvey, through a very strict diet, has minimal reactions, is almost excema free and is a very active, loving 2 year old boy.

Through this blog I am going to try and document our life, to show you our weekly routines, struggles and most importantly what Harvey eats! And if, through this, I can help just one other Mummy who is struggling know that they are not alone then all my pain was worth it.
Stay strong allergy Mamas , you’re doing amazing ♡
